Cocoa Beach Fishing For Kids ✶
Let’s go fishing!
Hi, I’m Katie! I’ve been fishing in the Atlantic Ocean for the last 23 years.
At Cocoa Beach Kids Fishing, I combine my two favorite things: teaching and fishing. It’s the perfect daytime activity for kids (and a great break for parents) without ever leaving the island.
Whether your little one is a first-timer or has some experience fishing, this experience is all about fun, learning, building confidence, and feeling that exciting tug on the line!
I teach your child about the ocean conditions, and we learn a little bit about the weather, tides, and how they affect the fish we catch. They’ll experience the patience and excitement that come with fishing, all while soaking in the beauty of Cocoa Beach’s incredible marine life.

Educational & Fun
I’m a teacher with 10+ years of classroom experience and working as an educator at the Kennedy Space Center. I turn every fishing trip into a fun, hands-on learning adventure. From identifying fish to understanding weather and the environment, I guide kids step by step, answering all their questions—especially the wildly creative ones. Every child gets an educational packet of local fish!

FAQs
-
I handle all sharp tools, baiting, and casting for your child. I’m here to assist with fish handling and unhooking, and making sure we have fun while staying safe. Your child will never need to handle anything sharp. 🎣
-
I have a “secret spot” that I will share over the phone when booking your fishing day! This spot has free parking right at the beach.
Unfortunately, I cannot meet you at any of the hotels as the water may be too crowded with swimmers and unsafe to fish properly.
-
Children under the age of 16 do not need a fishing license to fish onshore in Florida.
-
You’re more than welcome to keep fish if they follow the current season’s regulations. You can take the fish to the local bait shop to filet it.
-
I cannot guarantee fish, but I can guarantee extra special bait that will excite fish and give us greater chances of catching one. When you call to book, I’ll also recommend the best time to head out—rising tide is when the magic usually happens!
-
As someone who has lived on the island for over a decade, I will call off a session or not recommend a session if the weather or conditions will be unfavorable or unsafe.
-
You know your child the best. :) But your child needs to be able to hold a surf fishing rod and reel in a fish. (I can always do it for them! But it’s more fun if they can hold the pole, it’s part of the ocean experience so they can feel the waves and fish.)
I recommend ages 6-14.
Children must be under the age of 16.
